About the town of Oliva
Oliva is a thriving market town, busy all year round and not reliant on tourism. You will find a plentiful supply of friendly bars, cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes. The streets of Oliva are full of many interesting shops (both small and large). The long sandy beaches are clean and never crowded, and the sand is golden - the beaches are just gorgeous. We have a 10km fine sand beach backed by an almost continuous natural dune.
there is space for everyone on Oliva's long, sandy beaches The old part of Oliva is like a village within a town, with the added bonus of all that you would want from a family seaside resort. It is the perfect blend of old and new. The old town has many relics of the past, including two large domed churches and the ruins of Castle Santa Anna that overlook the town from the hill. You can see for yourself the influences that different cultures have had on the town over the centuries.
'fallas' is just one of the many traditional annual fiestas here Oliva's economy is based on the citrus fruit harvests as you can see from the abundant orange and lemon groves in the area. Naturally protected by the mountains, nestled in the Safor Valley between the Gallinera and Mustalla mountain ranges, Oliva has so many different environments to discover. Here we enjoy an excellent climate most of the year round a typical mediterranean climate with mild winters and moderately hot summers), this area is recommended by the World Health Authority. Casa San Francesc is ideally situated to enable you to enjoy the best that Spain has to offer, there are many attractions within easy reach to ensure that you never have a dull moment. Located within easy reach of both Alicante and Valencia Airports. From Alicante Airport head for Valencia on the A7 motorway (northbound), or from Valencia head for Alicante on the A7 motorway (southbound), we are about 90kms from either. |
